Dear Alexander,

My family and I are going to stay with my aunt and uncle for the holidays. They have two kids who aren't allergic to any food. I'm allergic to milk, and I'm not sure that my cousins, aunt, or uncle understand what this means. What can I do?

Good work thinking ahead! Seeing problems before they happen is always an important step.

So what to do now? Take this chance to teach your cousins and your aunt and uncle about your food allergy, with help from your mom and dad. Lots of people don’t know about food allergies, but you can help them learn. Here are some simple facts you can share.

If you’re still worried, be sure to tell your parents and have them talk to your aunt and uncle. They’re your family, so they will understand!

Good luck!

Your friend,

Alexander Signature
